As the world faces the Corona Virus, and our communities work together to slow the spread, federal and local governments are recommending everyone to stay home as much as possible.
This takes some work and commitment since we are used to going out and doing the things we love. Thank you for putting in the work to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
Working from home
If you are one of the few that has a job that will allow you to work from home, then you are probably already doing it. We have put together a few best practices for working from home.
Separate your workspace from the rest of your house.
Working from home is already something that you will have to adjust to and frankly, it can be distracting. To concentrate on your work you need a space that is set apart from your normal routine of home life. Your family, pets, and TV are part of your everyday life, they will distract you and make getting your work done a lot harder. If you have kids at home, then your ideal workspace should probably have a door and a lock :).
Good internet is a must
As a Valnet customer that won’t be a problem, our technicians are using this time to upgrade our towers to help provide you the best internet we can.
When working with a wireless router here are a few things to consider.
- Place the router away from metal, thick walls or major appliances.
- Make sure the router is on the main floor of your house
- Test the router to make sure it is giving you the right speeds.
This might be the most important thing to remember when working from home. When you are at home, you may spend more time sitting than you would on a normal day in the office. So remember to get up, take a walk or spend a few minutes with your family. Maintaining emotional health is vital to your success.
Working from home can have some major benefits, but it will also take some work and commitment on your end. This will pass and we will all be back to “normal” again soon. Stay healthy. Stay safe.
